Sortelha

Sortelha, Portugal – 2025. The Village of Sortelha and the castle walls surrounding it date from the 13th century, but occupation of the region prior to that included Romans, the Visigoths and Arabs. Sortelha is the oldest of a string of strongholds guarding Portugal’s eastern frontier. It’s a medieval village built on the top of a granite massif.
