Algarve, Portugal – 2025. The Algarve is Portugal's southernmost region, famous for its sunny climate, stunning Atlantic coastline with golden beaches, dramatic cliffs, sea caves and whitewashed villages. While visiting the region we spent an afternoon in Ferragudo which is across the Arade River from Portimão, Alvor, a former fishing village near several nice beaches and the town of Lagos where we took a boat tour to the Ponta da Piedade grottoes.
