Douro Valley

Douro Valley, Portugal – 2025. The Douro Valley in Portugal is a wine region known as the birthplace of Port wine. It is the world's first demarcated wine region (1756) and it produces exceptional Port wine and high-quality table wines. Its steep, terraced vineyards are carved into hillsides along the Douro River. There are a lot of historic quintas (wine estates) offering tastings. River cruises are available and are a good way to view the valley. We visited the town of town of Pinhão lies at the very heart of Douro Valley wine region.
