Cascais and Cabo da Roca, Portugal – 2025. Cabo da Roca is a dramatic headland in Portugal that marks the westernmost point of mainland Europe. It is located within the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park and is known for 140-meter-high granite cliffs that drop sharply into the Atlantic Ocean and its lighthouse (Farol do Cabo da Roca). Cascais is a charming coastal resort town near Lisbon, known as the "Portuguese Riviera," famous for its sandy beaches, marina, historic villas, and upscale yet relaxed atmosphere, evolving from a fishing village to a royal summer retreat and now a sophisticated tourist destination offering history, art, water sports, and beautiful scenery.
