Wenchi Crater Lake, Ethiopia – 2014. You can get to the town of Wenchi from either Ambo or Weliso. Either way it’s a several hour trip over a very rough gravel and dirt road. This is a volcano caldera with a lake in it. The lake is about 450 meters below the rim of the volcano and you must go by foot or horse to the lake and a boat to the Monastery of Wenchi Chirkos which is on an island in the lake.
