Northwest cluster

Northwest cluster, Lalibela, Ethiopia – 2014. The northwest cluster has seven churches including Bet Medhane Alem (the largest monolithic rock-hewn church in the world), Bet Maryam (believed to be the first church built in Lalibela) and Bet Golgotha. All of the churches have been carved out of the solid rock.
