Pécs Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral

Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral, Hungary - 2022 Danube River cruise. The Pécs Cathedral on the Saint István square in central Pécs has a long history. The foundations are from the Roman period around the fourth century with additions and reconstruction happening through the centuries. The most recent reconstruction, carried out in the 1880s, includes various elements of its long history, Gothic, Renaissance, Classicism and Islamic features. We went to an organ concert in the Candlemas Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Mosque of Pasha Gazi Kasim) and spent time walking through the square and surrounding area.
